Professional Development Activities
All certified LAUP teaching staff (those with a Star Rating) must participate in at least 15 hours of Professional Development Activities (PDA) each program year. In order to qualify, PDA must address one or more of the topics listed below. Proper documentation - PDA Logs and PD Records of Attendance - must be kept on file at the LAUP site.
The PDA log is a listing of the trainings completed by an individual teacher during the program year. Providers should complete this log and keep a copy for their records. The PD Record of Attendance should be used by teachers to document trainings that they have completed and be submitted to their supervisors. On-site staff trainings may be documented through sign-in sheets, agendas, and handouts kept on file at the Provider's site.
