Celebrate Week of the Young Child With LAUP
LAUP is celebrating Week of the Young Child (April 19-25) by sponsoring events and activities honoring young children, and thanking teachers and others who make a difference in young children's lives.
The Week of the Young Child is an annual nationwide celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. NAEYC is the world's largest association advocating the importance of Early Childhood Education.
LAUP and its network of preschool providers are hosting open houses around Los Angeles County to raise public awareness on how all of us can better meet the needs of young children to give them a good start in life. More specific, parents can enroll their children for classes this summer or fall.
Because LAUP believes that early childhood years lay the foundation for a child's future success in school and life, it is proudly sponsoring and hosting several activities during the 2009 Week of the Young Child celebration. Activities include children's art exhibits, city proclamations, preschool open houses, and more.
