LAUP Partnership With Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District Results in Additional Preschool Spaces

Thanks to LAUP funding, Glazier preschool, operated by the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, opened two additional classrooms on March 23 that will serve 48 children at no cost to their families.

March 24 Marked Significant Anniversary for LAUP

March 24 marked LAUP's four-year anniversary. The organization opened its first LAUP-funded preschool — the YWCA of Greater Los Angeles Union Pacific Children's Center — in East Los Angeles on March 24, 2005.

AB 495, the bill that LAUP has partnered with Assemblyman Mike Davis, will get its first hearing on April 15, when it will be reviewed by the Assembly Education Committee, chaired by Assemblywoman Julia Brownley.
