LAUP Campaign Increases Preschool Enrollment in Long Beach

As part of efforts to increase preschool enrollment, LAUP recently launched a successful advertising campaign in the Long Beach area, targeting parents who are considering preschool for their children to better prepare them for school.

Print publications that circulate in Long Beach were targeted to help promote the availability of LAUP preschool spaces for four-year olds.

The advertising campaign was targeted in areas where LAUP sites with available preschool spaces are located. The ads ran in the Long Beach Press-Telegram, Downtown Gazette, Grunion Gazette, and Spanish-language Impacto.

As a result of efforts that involved collaboration between LAUP and Long Beach preschool providers – including training and open house events – enrollment at LAUP preschools in Long Beach increased from 83 percent in October to 90 percent today.
