Los Angeles Headquarters Association to Honor LAUP

The Los Angeles Headquarters Association (LAHQ) will present LAUP with its "Excellence in Education" Award, during the 49th Annual Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, April 27, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

More than 400 business and community leaders will recognize LAUP, along with Dr. Arthur C. Bartner, Director of the USC Trojan Marching Band and recipient of this year’s Spirit of Los Angeles Award; Mattel, recipient of the Outstanding Company Headquartered in Los Angeles Award; and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), recipient of the Community Award.

"Our award recipients are among so many who work hard to make our city a great place to live, work and learn," said Gregory Schultz, LAHQ President. "Their tireless efforts not only touch the lives of thousands, they make Los Angeles a better place to do business."

Gary Mangiofico, Ph.D., CEO of LAUP, said the award is a testament to the commitment and dedication of the staff, who works tirelessly to ensure children throughout Los Angeles County have greater access to a quality preschool education.

"We’re honored to receive this award," he said. "It’s a recognition of our efforts to better prepare children to become our future business leaders by giving them the good start in life they deserve through a quality early childhood education."

LAHQ was formed in 1965 to promote and create healthy economic growth, while enhancing the quality-of-life in Greater Los Angeles. Each year, LAHQ honors those who make a positive impact in the community.
