LAUP Recognized for its Commitment to Quality and Expanding Access to Preschool Education
At LAUP, we take great pride in the work that we do and from time to time, our commitment and dedication to the children of Los Angeles County are recognized by outside groups that confirm what we’ve known all along: we make a difference!
CAPE Award:
The California Council on Excellence has announced that LAUP was once again a recipient of the "Bronze-Level" Eureka-level California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE). LAUP received the same award in 2008. The award program recognizes organizations that demonstrate superior performance in seven key business areas, including leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement and knowledge management, human resources, process management and business results.
We increased our score over the 2007 application, and the examiners noted strong business approaches, systems and processes that are well deployed across the organization. The examiners also provided feedback indicating that once LAUP has 3-5 years of strong business results with comparisons and benchmarks, the organization will be a mature applicant in terms of being ready to attain a silver or gold level award.
Los Angeles Headquarters Association Excellence in Education Award:
In addition to the CAPE Award, the Los Angeles Headquarters Association (LAHQ) has awarded LAUP its “Excellence in Education” Award. LAHQ teams up with government and community members to promote and create healthy economic growth while enhancing the quality-of-life in Greater Los Angeles. The association has 400-plus active members representing approximately 150 companies.
This award came about as a result of the Communications team carrying out a strategy to identify third-party recognition through awards and public speaking platforms. LAUP is honored to have been awarded. Previous award winners include the Griffith Park Observatory and The Accelerated School.
LAUP Advertising Campaign Lauded:
Another great win for LAUP is that our 2008-09 print advertising campaign has been included in the first-ever book of its kind, “Designing for the Greater Good.” The book illustrates some of the best cause-related branding campaigns in the world. It highlights case studies and insights to the work non-profit agencies are doing in all facets of social marketing, design and the like. LAUP is included in the family and community chapter of the book. The book will be available in stores or you can find it at Amazon.com here.
