At LAUP preschools, we are happy to enroll children who are four years old. For the school year that is currently underway, the eligibility cutoff date  is November 1, 2007. In other words, only children born before this date are eligible to participate in the LAUP program. For the 2012-2013 school year which begins in September 2012, the eligibility dates have changed. Due to budget constraints, Transitional Kindergarten may become optional for school districts next year. Furthermore, there is a proposal to change the kindergarten cutoff date to November 1. In order to best comply with these changes and to accommodate as many children as possible, the eligibility dates are as follows: 11/02/07 - 11/01/08.
