Advocate
Every day, public officials make decisions that impact you, your family, and your community. Advocacy is all about getting involved and having a voice in those decisions!
Anyone can be an advocate and most people already are, whether they know it or not. All you have to do to be a preschool advocate is talk to people about why you think preschool is important. You can talk about your own child's experience, what you've seen as a teacher, or why it's important for your community.
LAUP is here to help you. Please contact Adam Sonenshein, Director of Public Affairs, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 213-416-1283 to get more information.

If you are a parent, we encourage you to become involved with the Parent Ambassador program. Parents need to be advocates for their children and others by using the power of their voice to create change. The LAUP Parent Ambassador program helps parents learn the skills they need to feel empowered to speak up on issues that impact them and their families. The core of the program is a series of free, interactive workshops hosted in five convenient locations around Los Angeles County. Click here to learn more and see the full training schedule.
